Why Dragon boating?

Dragon boating is one of the fastest growing sports in Australia and has been called the ultimate team sport because of the importance for every crew member to work together as one unit in order to collectively achieve. The qualities of an efficient crew on the water are the same as those in a productive team in the workplace. The health benefits of social and physical activity are well recognised.

LUNAR NEW YEAR RACING

Many Sydney businesses, hospitals, institutions and Defence Force personnel participate in dragon boat racing every year by entering the annual Lunar New Year Dragon Boat Festival in Darling Harbour. This is the largest corporate dragon boating event in the NSW racing calendar and not to be missed. There's fierce competition between crews for the trophies in each category.

SPONSORSHIP

We are looking for corporate partners!

DSA is very active on the water and social media. Our crews practice on the Parramatta River throughout the week on dragon boats and outrigger canoes. These are seen by hundreds of people in the immediate area and along the ferry routes as we regularly paddle around Homebush, Rhodes, Meadowbank, Putney and Drummoyne.

Additionally, we have fundraisers and participate in community events that attract lots of non-members.

DSA competes in State and National competitions. A number of members have been selected for the Australian National Dragon Boat Squad and a larger number selected for the NSW State Representative Squad. Collectively, we strive to bring out the best in every member to succeed as one.
