Now the State titles are over the club's concentration switches to the Nationals in Adelaide 22-25 Apr 2010, where as well as competing in the club racing we have club members representing NSW in the State teams. The 9th Asian DB Championships follow shortly in Wujin City, Jiangsu Province China, 30 Apr-1 May 2010 where we also have club members representing Australia.
Congratulations should also go to Frank, Carmen and Mish who have been selected to represent Australia in the Asian Championships later this year. They have been a part of a new selection process for the national team which was open to all paddlers across Australia. They were selected after an inital intense 4 day camp in Sydney where they underwent various tests, video analysis and paddling sessions. This new selection process challenges the dragon boat community to look beyond the previous selection criteria and raises the sport to another level.
This year we have done a fantastic job building a new mixed crew who will certainly be competitive come Adelaide. It is always a challenge at this time of the season to maintain motivation, interest and drive to keep training. However we are up to the task and coping with all the different sets George is throwing at us at training to ensure we deliver our best on race day. DSA wishes everyone going to Adelaide all the best. Goodluck!
