Dragon Sports Association (DSA) is a dragon boat racing club in Sydney, New South Wales in Australia. Established in 1983, DSA is one of Australia’s founding clubs and celebrate being a part of the dragon boating community for over 30 years.
We are located in Rhodes near Homebush and have our own site with free onsite parking. We have three dragon boats and three single-person outrigger canoes at our site in Rhodes. We also have two six-person outrigger canoes in Drummoyne. We train all year round on Sunday mornings except for a few weeks off in May. During the racing season from August to April we also train on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. On Saturday mornings we run outrigger canoe sessions from Drummoyne as base-training to supplement our dragon boating.
We have male and female paddlers of all ages, shapes, sizes and levels of fitness and backgrounds, but there is one thing we have in common – we all know how to have fun on the water!
We believe in bringing out the best in every single member and being a support network for each other both on and off the water. Many of our paddlers have been selected for state and national representative teams. We also provide the opportunity to train and gain accreditation as a sweep. Our members have provided training to a number of corporate teams and many organisations have realised that dragon boating is great fun and a cost effective team building activity.
